Daedalus' polymer
composite structural units are comprised of panels that
are formed using advanced composite technology. These unique panels can be produced
from the same basic mold in which the use of fiber-reinforcement, and naturally-occurring
materials, are options. The panels will permit fabrication of a single structural
unit in approximately one day by a team of three to five people.
The panels are a uniform thickness of 10 cm. and can vary in dimensions of 1.25 meters
by 1.25 meters or 1.25 meters by 2.5 meters, weighing approximately 10 and 20 kilograms,
respectively, or 6.4 kilograms/square meter. In addition to floor, wall, and roof
panels, as can be seen in the exploded view of a basic structure, included are roof
trusses that are molded of the same composite material. |

Each
basic structural unit will consist of approximately 25 or 50 panels, dependent upon
overall size of panel. The panels are assembled three panels in width to form a structure
2.5 meters high by 3.75 meters on each side. The area of the basic structural unit
is approximately 14 square meters or 150 square feet.

basic structural unit, Daedalus has developed a larger, single version with an area
of nearly 19 square meters. Refer to the table that follows for a summary of current

Panels can be ordered individually, or as complete units to meet wide-ranging requirements
for public buildings such as hospitals, clinics, schools, community centers, and
sanitary facilities. Eventually, panels will be produced in a variety of shapes and
sizes to permit fabrication of a greater variety of structures, including smaller
units. |
